While shopping the other day I got a flyer shoved into my hands from a national lottery representative touting their new game called "Dream Number". I had a brief look through to see what the deal with it was and noticed something a little odd about the chances they say you have of winning each prize.
On that page you can see the electronic representation of the leaflet I got. Basically put, you get a 7 digit number given to you, which you compare to the number which is picked on the draw night. You can win a prize for matching the very first digit.
The odds they give of matching that first digit are apparently 12-1.
But with there being only 10 digits, surely the odds would be 10-1? It is much the same for the other prizes except for the JP which is listed as being 10,000,000-1.
Maybe there is something that I am missing, but I can't see it.
